D\u00e8s 1912 il r\u00e9alise deux prototypes \u00e0 ch\u00e2ssis surbaiss\u00e9 et moteur monobloc \u00e0 culbuteurs d\u00e9veloppant 8 cv. puis constitue en f\u00e9vrier 1913, \u00e0 Londres, la \u00ab TAUNTON MANUFACTURING C\u00b0 Ltd \u00bb mais son projet d&#8217;association avec la vieille firme \u00e9cossaise AROLL-JOHNSTON \u00e9choue.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">Disposant de prototypes mais pas d&#8217;usine pour entamer sa production, TAUNTON s&#8217;int\u00e9resse \u00e0 l&#8217;ancienne usine HERMES de Bressoux disponible avec ses machines et ses stocks existants depuis la mise en liquidation de la firme HERMES d\u00e9but 1914. Cette usine qui avait une capacit\u00e9 de production de 1500 v\u00e9hicules par an correspondant \u00e0 ses besoins, TAUNTON fonde d\u00e9but 1914 une nouvelle soci\u00e9t\u00e9, la \u00ab TAUNTON CARS LTD \u00bb au capital de 100.000 livres sterling, et loue l&#8217;usine HERMES pour trois ans. Malheureusement, alors que les premi\u00e8res voitures sortent enfin de l&#8217;usine de BRESSOUX, l&#8217;Allemagne envahit la Belgique et transforme l&#8217;usine en h\u00f4pital.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">L&#8217;armistice sign\u00e9, TAUNTON doit se rendre \u00e0 l&#8217;\u00e9vidence et constater que l&#8217;occupant a d\u00e9mont\u00e9 et emport\u00e9 toutes les machines de production de sorte qu&#8217;en 1919, apr\u00e8s construction d&#8217;un dernier prototype, il renonce \u00e0 relancer la commercialisation de ses v\u00e9hicules. Ainsi na\u00eetra la TELNA (anagramme de HANLET) \u00e9quip\u00e9e d&#8217;abord d&#8217;un moteur SAROLEA monotube de 490 cc plac\u00e9 \u00e0 l&#8217;avant et permettant d&#8217;atteindre 135 km\/h. Le ch\u00e2ssis et la transmission avant provenaient du cyclecar allemand FRAMO tandis que la suspension avant coulissante \u00e9tait d&#8217;origine LANCIA. En 1952 la TELNA re\u00e7ut un moteur JAP anglais un peu plus puissant.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">Andr\u00e9 HANLET participa sur la TELNA \u00e0 diff\u00e9rentes courses tant en Belgique qu&#8217;\u00e0 l&#8217;\u00e9tranger. Ce v\u00e9hicule \u00e0 trois roues dont une \u00e0 l&#8217;arri\u00e8re \u00e9tait \u00e9quip\u00e9 de si\u00e8ges en tandem et livrable soit avec un moteur fran\u00e7ais TRAIN, soit avec un moteur anglais JAP \u00e9tant des 2 cylindres en V de 1000 cc. d\u00e9veloppant 6\/8 cv. et autorisant une vitesse de l&#8217;ordre de 60 km\/h. Cette production n&#8217;eut qu&#8217;une existence \u00e9ph\u00e9m\u00e8re. (\u00e0 ne pas confondre avec la voiturette \u00ab LA TORPILLE \u00bb construite en 1901\/1902 par la S.A. L&#8217;AUTOMOBILE cr\u00e9\u00e9e par J. (Travail de la T\u00f4le et du Triplex), un carrossier belge r\u00e9alisera en 1948 sur les plans de Georges PLACKLE deux cabriolets particuli\u00e8rement originaux sur base des tractions CITRO\u00cbN. THIRIAR et VAN DEN DAELE entament la construction d&#8217;une voiture l\u00e9g\u00e8re propuls\u00e9e par un quatre cylindres de 1095 cc. produit \u00e0 HERSTAL par DAMBIERMONT. Ce premier mod\u00e8le T.V.D., assembl\u00e9 dans un modeste atelier de la rue du Ch\u00e2telain \u00e0 Ixelles, \u00e9tait pourvu d&#8217;un \u00e9l\u00e9gant radiateur plat et de roues fil ou de roues \u00e0 disques. Cette motorisation fut remplac\u00e9e \u00e0 partir de 1922 par un quatre cylindres de 1496 cc. d&#8217;origine fran\u00e7aise d\u00e9veloppant 8\/10 cv.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">Deux mod\u00e8les plus puissants seront construits en 1924 : une 10\/12 cv. et une 15\/16 cv. mais la production des T.V.D. s&#8217;arr\u00eatera d\u00e8s 1925, faute de capitaux suffisants.
